Statistical Methodology and Data Sources

(1) Chinese average: Severe traffic accident rate for human drivers. This refers to the average safe driving mileage by human drivers in vehicles not equipped with HUAWEI ADS™ before encountering a collision severe enough to deploy airbags or activate passive safety systems. This data is derived from public datasets on road traffic accidents in China, including the total number of reported accidents over the years from China's Road Traffic Accident Statistical Annual Report and annual car ownership figures published by the National Bureau of Statistics. Final figures were derived by incorporating data from multiple partner automakers.

(2) ADS™ (manual driving): Severe traffic accident rate for ADS™ (manual driving). This refers to the average safe driving mileage in manual mode in vehicles equipped with HUAWEI ADS™ before encountering a collision severe enough to deploy airbags or activate passive safety systems. The mileage data is derived from a statistical analysis of anonymized data collected from all vehicles equipped with HUAWEI ADS™.

(3) ADS™ (assisted driving): Severe traffic accident rate for ADS™ (assisted driving). This refers to the average safe driving mileage in assisted driving mode in vehicles equipped with HUAWEI ADS™ before encountering a collision severe enough to deploy airbags or activate passive safety systems. The mileage data is derived from a statistical analysis of anonymized data collected from all vehicles equipped with HUAWEI ADS™.
